The Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 is comprised of business and professional men and women united by the principles of Rotary International, with a mission to foster fellowship among members and dedicate themselves to volunteer service in the Lekki community. Our members contribute their resources, skills, and time, all while enjoying camaraderie.
Since achieving its chartered status, the club has continued to thrive, overcoming various challenges. What began with just 12 members has now grown to 72, with the ambitious goal of becoming a mega club by the end of this Rotary Year.
The club boasts 17 past presidents and has the honor of including a Past District Governor (PDG), three Past Assistant Governors (PAGs), and two current Assistant Governors (AGs) who work closely with the District, providing valuable guidance. Additionally, several club members serve on District Committees.
Currently, PAG Chief Kayode Aderinokun serves as the Chairman of the District Endowment and World Fund (DEWEF), and PDG Tunji Funsho, a member of the Rotary International (RI) PolioPlus Committee, was recognized as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world for his significant contributions to polio eradication.
The club has sponsored the Rotaract Club of Lekki Phase 1 and the Interact Club at Lekki British School. Furthermore, it plans to establish another Interact Club at Gbara Community Junior and Secondary School by the end of the Rotary Year 2023-2024.
